Changing the bulbs in the stock square push-button switches

I Just changed a bulb in one of my Unimog U1300L dash switches. It is not instantly obvious how to get the switch apart to change the bulb. New switches are not cheap so it is a little stressful figuring it out. Luckily, I have a few extra switches to practice on.

As far as I can tell, just pull Part D straight back and away from Part B. At first I thought the button needed to be depressed, but I tried again with it not depressed and it worked as well.

The bulb does need to be rotated before it will pull out. Tweezers worked well for that task.

As far as I can tell, you would not have to take the switches out of the dash to change a bulb.

There is a resistor in the back of the switch so the bulb can be dim when no depressed and bright when depressed. This would mean that LED bulbs would probably not work as a replacement.
